The cover art features Shaun Michael with a grey duct tape across his mouth, symbolizing that his lyrics are bold, unapologetic, and perhaps too raw for some—a voice that some might want to silence.
This EP is a powerful blend of poetry delivered in perfect timing over hard-hitting beats and electrifying energy, offering a glimpse into the wild mind and lived experiences of the artist.
The opening track, “IDGAF” (short for “I Don’t Give a F***”), sets the tone with a potent mix of UK Hip Hop and Shaun’s strong Jamaican roots.
The reggae bassline and guitar chops intertwine seamlessly with UK Hip Hop drum patterns.
Having felt constrained by the stylistic limits of his previous reggae band, Shaun uses this EP to break free. The second track, “THIS IS HIP HOP,” further asserts his unfiltered expression, while “Wicked and Wild” explores the diverse sounds of the African diaspora. Those are just the first three tracks the others are left for the listener to further explore.
